  • De Mille went on to choreograph several other successful ballets, including “Fall River Legend,” “Three Virgins and a Devil,” and “The Informer.”
  • She also choreographed several Broadway musicals, including “Oklahoma!” (1943), “Carousel” (1945), and “Brigadoon” (1947). Her innovative and expressive choreography helped to revolutionize musical theater.
  • De Mille was also a prolific writer. She wrote several books on dance and choreography, including the influential “Dance to the Piper” (1952).
  • In addition to her artistic work, de Mille was also an advocate for the rights of artists. She helped to establish the American Guild of Musical Artists and served as its president for many years.
