Darren Aronofsky (born February 12, 1969) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for directing films such as “Requiem for a Dream,” “The Fountain,” “Black Swan,” “Noah,” and “Mother!”

Aronofsky was born in Brooklyn, New York, and studied at the Harvard University where he received his B.A. in social anthropology before attending film school at the American Film Institute Conservatory where he received his MFA.
