Asking is a gift
If you don’t ask, you don’t get.
We all have dreams, aspirations, wishes... but we're afraid to take the first step:
Simply ASKING.
Every child knows this instinctively but we, as adults, seem to have grown to be asking averse - The fear of hearing a No. The fear or rejection.
While being in the hospital, I could not walk. For more than week, I was limited in my movement. I had to ask for almost everything: food, clothing, taking a shower, even tossing my urine away.
I don't remember the last time I've asked so much in such short time.
It was like an asking therapy.
And then I realized:
Asking is a gift - we can get what we want while giving someone else a chance to give, to feel generous, to love.
Asking cuts through the mental noise and creates the space for others to do the same.
Asking is a gift because it's the best way—the only way, really—to get what we want.
And what if we get a no?
We moved one step further. We can move on. We can ask someone else. We can let go. We can...
Most importantly, we were real. We expressed our desires. We shared a vulnerable moment with the world. We created an opportunity for an alignment..
An opportunity for a YES.
