Who is King Arthur?

King Arthur is a legendary figure in British history and medieval literature. The historical existence of Arthur is debated by scholars, but his legend has been passed down through the centuries in stories, poems, and literature.

According to legend, Arthur was the son of Uther Pendragon and heir to the throne of Britain. He was raised by Sir Hector, and later became the king after he proved himself by pulling a sword from a stone. He established Camelot as his court and gathered the Knights of the Round Table. He also married Guinevere and had a son, Mordred.
