Rich in What Truly Matters
As a lover of travel, I've been to some of the most poverty-stricken places of what's often called the 'Developing world.'
But when others see poverty, I see abundance - of community, of selfless generosity, of trust in life and fellow men.
Take Bali for example. Most Balinese live in compounds where each family member congregates around a communal temple, garden, and open-air living space.
Their richness is reflected in their communal life. If one looks closely, one can see that richness in the eyes of the kids playing around. There are no gadgets, no impressive toys, no fancy cloths.
Though they may be labeled 'poor' in terms of goods and stuff, they are rich in what truly matters:
community, connection, love.
